THE JOYE JOURNEY with Paula Joye
18 – 31 May 2027 | 10 Guests | AU$13990 | Twin Share
A stylish Moroccan escape for women who love beautiful things.
And just like that… we’re doing it again.
After the success of our first Moroccan adventure, I’m packing my kaftans again and I’d love you to come with me. Join me, and my co-host Sim Kingston, founder of Design Trails (and the woman who leaves no rose petal unturned), for two unforgettable weeks exploring one of the most beautiful countries on earth.
This isn’t a tour. It’s Morocco through the eyes of a magazine editor, stylist and lifelong collector of beautiful things. We’ll wander ancient medinas searching for treasures you’ll still be talking about years from now.
Come with your best friend. Come with your sister. Or come on your own because these trips have a wonderful way of turning strangers into lifelong friends.
We’ll discover artisan workshops hidden behind unmarked doors, drink mint tea on rooftops overlooking centuries of history, spend lazy afternoons beside spectacular pools and finish our days with candlelit dinners under impossibly starry skies.
There’ll be shopping. Not the tourist kind. The “how on earth did you find this?” kind.
Beautiful handwoven rugs, vintage jewellery, embroidered kaftans, leather bags that smell incredible, ceramics you’ll somehow convince yourself fit inside your suitcase.
We’ll visit places most visitors never find, meet extraordinary creatives, stay in some
of Morocco’s most beautiful hotels and share meals that stretch late into the evening because nobody wants the conversation to end.
Expect laughter. Expect colour. Expect inspiration.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Casablanca
Welcome to Morocco! Your private driver will be waiting to whisk you away to our chic boutique hotel in Casablanca, where palm-lined boulevards and ocean breezes set the tone for the adventure ahead.
As the sun begins to set, we’ll come together for the first time as a group, first stop the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque. Golden hour here is pure magic and the perfect way to begin our Moroccan story.
Then it’s time for our fabulous welcome dinner. First toast of many as we celebrate new friendships and get excited for the adventure ahead.
Days 2 & 3 – Fes
This morning we hit the road for Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city and an absolute treasure trove for lovers of craftsmanship, fashion and design.
Over the next two days we’ll lose ourselves in the ancient medina, where more than 9,000 winding laneways reveal hidden riads, magnificent palaces, colourful courtyards and artisan workshops that have barely changed for centuries.
Shopping here is next level. Browse buttery-soft leather bags, handwoven textiles, embroidered kaftans, colourful ceramics, artisan jewellery and treasures you’ll be talking about long after you return home. Yes…you may need to buy another suitcase.
Between shopping stops we’ll enjoy rooftop mint teas, leisurely lunches and unforgettable dinners celebrating the rich flavours of Morocco’s culinary capital.
Day 4 – Rabat
Next stop is Rabat, Morocco’s effortlessly stylish coastal capital.
Think whitewashed kasbahs trimmed in brilliant blue, leafy gardens, elegant boulevards and a relaxed seaside atmosphere that feels worlds away from the bustling medinas.
We will spend the afternoon wandering artisan boutiques, discovering hidden galleries, picking up beautifully crafted pieces and enjoy a sunset drink overlooking the Atlantic.
Days 5, 6, 7 – Essaouira
Following Morocco’s breathtaking coastline, we’ll arrive in the effortlessly cool seaside town of Essaouira, where life slows to the rhythm of the Atlantic. Think salty sea breezes, colourful fishing boats bobbing in the harbour, golden beaches and a charming, whitewashed medina that’s impossible not to fall in love with.
Spend your days wandering beautiful boutiques, concept stores and artisan workshops, discovering silver jewellery, handwoven rugs and textiles, vibrant artwork, handcrafted homewares and carved wood treasures you’ll be tempted to take home. We’ll meet talented local artisans, browse inspiring galleries, linger over long seafood lunches and even roll up our sleeves for an optional Moroccan cooking class.
When it’s time to unwind, retreat to our gorgeous riad to lounge by the pool, soak up the sunshine or simply embrace the slower pace of coastal life. As evening falls, we’ll gather for sunset cocktails, candlelit dinners, fresh seafood, a little dancing and plenty of laughter.
Days 8 & 9 – High Atlas Mountains
Welcome to mountain luxury.
Surrounded by dramatic peaks, ancient kasbahs and peaceful Berber villages, these next two days are all about slowing down and soaking up Morocco’s natural beauty.
Indulge in a traditional hammam, unwind with a massage at our favourite Moroccan spa, lounge beside the pool with a glass of rosé or explore the surrounding villages on a scenic walk. This is your chance to recharge while staying in one of Morocco’s most spectacular boutique retreats.
Day 10 – Agafay Desert
As the landscape transforms into rolling desert, we’ll arrive at our luxury camp for some afternoon pool time gazing over the stunning Agafay Desert.
Camel rides across golden plains at sunset, cocktails around the fire, dinner beneath a sky overflowing with stars and beautifully styled tents that redefine glamping. Its equal parts adventure and glamour, and without doubt one of Morocco’s most unforgettable experiences.
Days 11, 12, & 13 – Marrakech
Our grand finale—and the city you’ve all been waiting for.
Welcome to Marrakech, Morocco’s vibrant heart of colour, creativity, fashion and design. From the moment we step into the medina, prepare to be swept away by a kaleidoscope of colour, scent and sound as we explore winding souks, hidden courtyards and centuries-old artisan workshops.
This is shopping heaven. We’ll hunt for beautifully crafted treasures, discover emerging Moroccan designers, browse beautiful boutiques and uncover one-of-a-kind fashion, jewellery, textiles, lighting and homewares. Along the way we’ll share plenty of insider shopping tips—including where to find the best pieces and how to bargain like a local.
We’ll also visit the iconic Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the breathtaking Jardin Majorelle, where fashion, art and one of the world’s most famous shades of blue come together in spectacular style.
Between treasure hunting we’ll pause for mint tea in hidden riads, rooftop lunches overlooking the medina, golden hour cocktails and unforgettable dinners beneath the stars. There’ll also be plenty of time to relax by the pool in our beautiful private riad before heading back out to experience Marrakech after dark.
The perfect ending to an unforgettable Moroccan adventure—filled with beautiful finds, incredible food, lifelong friendships and memories you’ll treasure forever.
Day 14 – Departure
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye. Private transfers to Casablanca or Marrakech airports. Suitcase heavier, heart lighter, camera full.
